About the Production:

In the parking lot of the Hummingbird Motel, off the titular highway near New Orleans, the hotel’s residents have gathered to celebrate the life of Miss Ruby, an iconic burlesque queen who has been a mother figure to them all. Miss Ruby’s life is nearing its end, and she requests that her funeral takes place while she is still alive so she can attend the festivities. As the Mardi Gras-esque celebration continues into the night, the stories of the residents, their pain and disappointments unfold.

Orientation - Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 2:00pm

Attendance at this meeting in the Bronwyn Dodson is not required to audition, but is highly recommended. This is a time to hear the director discuss the show and what she will be looking for at the auditions. All your questions will be answered regarding directors vision, auditions, rehearsals and performances at this meeting.

Please note: Must be available for all rehearsals, performances and strike. No conflicts will be allowed. If cast, you must enroll in the course THEA 130 (3 units) through Fullerton College.

Strike will be on May 20th 10am-5:00pm and May 21ST 2:20-7:30pm. We will also be having a post-mortem on Wednesday or Friday after performance week. This course has structured hours and outside hours that need to be completed. You are required to attend all class meeting times, this includes post-show.

Rehearsals:
February 5 - May 9, 2018 (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 2:20-5:30pm). Tech Rehearsals are the weekend of May 5th & 6th from 8:30am-11pm. Final Dress Rehearsals are May 7th and 9th.

Performances:
May 10-12, and 17-19 2018 at 7:30pm

Auditions - Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at 2:00pm

Prepare a Contemporary 1-minute monologue of your choice. If there is time, you may be asked to perform a 2nd contrasting piece.

Sign-in begins at 1:30pm.
No appointments. First come first serve.
We will let you know after your audition if you are invited to callbacks.
