Actors having a blast

Perpetual motion: At the FC Theater Arts Department, much is yet to be accomplished in gearing up for tomorrow's opening of "A Midsummer Nights Dream." Last minute preparations continue.

"We'll probably be painting (the background scenery) right up to curtain time. But that's the way it always is. Somehow, it always works out," said director Chuck Ketter.

Amidst the hustle and bustle that goes into putting the final touches on a major production, something else has been in evidence fun.

Many of the actors are having a blast preparing to stage this zany play.

"This is the most fun I've had in a play here," said Josh Schleh, who plays Harpo Marx, the brother who "talks" by honking a horn.

Andrea Paquin and Christine Martin, Curly and Larry of the Stooges, concur.

"I've loved . it. I've learned a lot from these talented kids," said first time FC actor Sparlin Sypheid, who portrays W.C. Fields.

Having researched their characters in preparation for the play, many of the actors have learned to appreciate the comedy of these old-time stars.

"They really are funny," said Christin Pertel, who plays Mae. West. "Watching TV, I used to turn past the black and white movies. Now, I'm really into them," she said.

"I didn't know who they were before- now I'm hooked on the Marx Brothers," said John Ceccarelli, who plays Groucho Marx.

As they were about to go back inside to practice their lines, Josh Schleh turned and said, "I'll give you a quote." And honked his horn.
