Wonder Who Dunnit? Audience picks ending for musical

Who slew Drood?

That is a question that will be answered by the audience in the solve-it-yourself musical, "The Musical ·Mystery of Edwin Drood," currently showing in the Campus Theatre.

The cast of 30 students is excited about the challenge they face producing the last and unfinished novel of Charles Dickens.

Drood comes to a dead end at the very last word Dickens wrote, leaving the audience to decide who dunnit.

Where Dickens left off, the audience must forge ahead. Theatergoers are challenged to choose from 26 different endings, each with a unique outcome for young Drood.

The audience will boo or cheer for their favorite and most despised characters, and will determine their fate for each performance.

"The cast has to be ready to go in any direction because we never know which villain or pair of lovers the audience will choose. That really makes things exciting," said director Gary Krinke.

A scene from the play will be performed at the opening ceremonies for. today's High School Theater Festival. · ·

Complimentary performances of the entire play will be available for festival participants tonight at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m.

The cast has worked hard perfecting the many endings to produce an exciting play for the audi Rehearsals have run three to four hours, four days a week for many weeks.

"I have done over 15 shows in my life and I have never met a musical as challenging as this,"< said student-actor Jonathan Infante. "I am honored to be part of such a wonderful cast, I know that everyone who comes to see this show will walk away very happy."
