Synchronized Laughter

Teddy Platt (Michael Woo) is harassed by friends and family for his womanizing.

This past weekend the Fullerton College Theatre Arts Department opened and closed their show "House & Garden." "House & Garden" is an interesting approach to theater as the show itself is comprised of two comedies that run simultaneously in two theaters.

The two comedies are linked through Teddy Platt's (played by Michael Woo) illustrious affairs and the garden fete that the Platt's have put on for 13 years.

The plays run simultaneously and as a result the actor's run from one theater to the other over the course of the two hours that the shows run. There were several notable performances in the shows. Michell' Appezzato played Trish Platt, Teddy Platt's wife, and her wit and comedic timing were perfect for the role as Trish chooses to completely ignore her husband once she learns of his affair.

Michael Woo was beyond capable of playing the womanizing and self-absorbed Teddy who can't seem to control himself whenever a new woman comes around. His performance was excellent and at times he kept the show rolling.

Oscar Martinez played Giles Mace Teddy's best friend. Martinez was a hilarious additive to Garden and the strongest part of the entire show as Giles Mace desperately tries to deal with the fact his best friend had been sleeping with his wife.

Both shows were hilarious mayhem and extremely enjoyable. It seemed as though the audience sincerely appreciated all of the work the actors were doing. It's too bad the show ran only one weekend. It was a successful glimpse in to the life of a man and a woman who have never been completely satisfied.
