Drama Dept. Seeks Cast For Children's Melodrama

Fullerton College Hornet  - Staff Writer - Friday, January 16th, 1970

Tryouts for the spring Children's Theatre production will be held in the Campus Theatre Feb. 2 and 3 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

"Heaven Bless All the Children" is an old-fashioned melodrama for children written by Theater Arts Dept. instructor, Dick Thompson. It has all the ingredients of the traditional melodrama; the villian, Simon Filagree, a villianess, Klondike Cora; and the sweet, innocent, harrassed lady, Millicent Marvel. However, there is a new twist; Millicent's daughter, Margaret, and Filagree's nephew Wee Dilly Stinky are the heroine and hero.

FJC students or members of the community who are eligible may sign up for Rehearsals and Performance, Ticket No. 7470 and 7475, course 14 which meets only in the evenings. Since productions are cast from members of these classes, register before coming to tryouts.

According to Mr. Thompson, who will also direct this first production of the spring semester playing before an audience of children is an acting experience which is unique and unforgettable.
