Over the next few weeks we will be introducing the cast of Fuente Ovejuna directed by Minerva Garcia (Nov 15, 16, 17 and 29, 30, & December 1 at 7:30 p.m.). Born in Iran, but raised in Bangkok, Thailand, where his father was a diplomat with the United Nations, Mehrdad got to literally travel around the world twice, before he was 9-years-old. His family finally came to live in America in 1985, weeks shy of his 9th birthday. Locally, Mehrdad grew up in Placentia, and attended Fullerton College and Cal State Fullerton. After graduating with a degree in Biology, Mehrdad started medical school, and was well on his way to becoming a doctor.  Sadly, when the economy tanked, he couldn’t receive anymore student loans and was forced to drop-out of medical school, being only half-way done. Dejected, Mehrdad started taking classes at Fullerton College again, and in 2012 started to take Theatre classes for fun. It quickly became his new passion, and he has been doing shows all over Orange County since. His previous Fullerton College credits include Victor Winslow in 13 Past Midnight, Wayne Patrick Murphy in Airline Highway, Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night, and W.O. Grant in Look Homeward, Angel. Outside of Fullerton College he has appeared in Stages Theatre’s productions of Merchant of Venice and Kill Me Deadly and Mysterium Theatre’s production of Anything Goes. #fuenteovejuna #fullcolltheatre
