'Picnic' opens at FC

"Picnic" by William Inge will open in the Bronwyn Dodson Theater April 27.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. with two. matinees at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets range from $6 to $8. The play is directed by Pamela Richarde.

"'Picnic' is a domestic drama that depicts a slice of life in rural America, but the subject matter is universal," said Richarde.

The cast includes: Matt Agusto, Melanie Baker, James Balma, Gavin Carlton, Kelly Fullerton, Jennifer Harrison, Dyan Hobday, Ian Johnson, Stacy Messengale, April Petersen, and Kristen Walters.

Balma, who plays Hal Carter, said, "The family atmosphere of the cast is. the best thing about participating in 'Picnic.'

Richarde also said it was gratifying to see the growth of the characters that the students create.
