A hit on Broadway, this is the ironic and whimsical story of a kindly and benevolent gentleman who manages to arrange the murder of one disagreeable sister and the hanging of the other equally unpleasant one. He is tortured to the point of confession only to be unable to convince anyone he is guilty.
