Actors get prepared for opening night
— Fullerton College Hornet - Amanda Glover - Wednesday, March 10th, 1999Long nights of rehearsal are almost over as the cast of "Assassins" ,ravel anxiously through their last days of practice. Actors in the upcoming musical are nervous, anxious and excited to say the least.
·Each character is complex in their own manner as their theorems and ideas compel them to do or attempt the unthinkable, cold blooded murder.
Jill Louevano who double cast with Laura Huffman as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme says that this is the first time she's had a large role and describes it as wonderful.
Louevano , performed in other productions such as "End of the Woods,"and "How to Succeed in Business..."
Actor Tony Quinn who plays Guiseppe Zangara states that "Assassins" "offers an interesting sociological study."
"Such a bizarre, twisted topic as a musical is rarely done," says Quinn ..
Michelle Calhoun, along with Alicia L. Derrick, play Sarah Jane Moore on altering nights. "Assassins' is Calhoun's first production at Fullerton College.
Adam Harold is excited about playing clinically diagnosed manic depressive Samuel Byck, stating< that he has "never played a maniac before".
Matthew White plays the balladeer, "the voice of reason," he says.
Charles Guiteau is played by Artie O'Daly and Peter Leal plays Leon Czolgosz; both characters were successful assassins.
"There is no curtain call for this show," declares director Chuck Ketter at the end of a lengthy rehearsal. "Assassins shooting guns at the audience is enough."
