'West Side Story' taking centerstage

Whether you are familiar with "West Side Story" or have not yet been introduced to it, this show will captivate the viewer and introduce him/her to the cultural struggle two lovers encountered.
West Side Story, a classic, musical performance came into. existence in 1957. Three years latter West Side Story, the film was created and received an Oscar for. Best Picture of the Year.
It is a suspenseful l9ve story. of a young couple that is torn apart by two violent New York City street gangs the "Sharks" and "Jets."
The musical covers a period of two days,. conveying the stories tragic and embracing life stories of the wild 50's.
The Sharks and Jets which prevent the couple Alejandra Nevarro, who plays Maria, a Puerto Rican girl, who is the younger sister of Bernardo, the Sharks leader and Dana Johnson, who plays Tony, the former Jets leader from engaging.
The passionate secret relationship between Maria and Tony is unacceptable, because of their ethnic and cultural differences.
Both gangs forbid the two from seeing one other, while their strong feelings escalate as they continue to meet, leading the two gangs into a fatal outbreak.

"This is the best choreography we've had here in a while, thanks to our Guest Choreographer, Marti Ramm, who has worked on Broadway," says Stephanie Aven, who plays Pauline, a Jets girls in West Side Story.
Department Chairman and Director for West Side Story, Chuck Ketter, Managing Director, Bob Jensen along with all the other staff and performers have worked hard to make this performance a worthwhile experience for their audience. "The music is uplifting and will steer the audiences emotions," says Liz Ojeda, who plays Consuela, a sharks girl.
"West Side Story'' will be performing this Thursday March 16th through Saturday March 25th at the FC theater.
