DIRECTOR'S NOTE
This play, written by Sarah DeLappe is not necessarily driven by plot, but instead the journeys of young adolescents exploring global themes. So many times young adults are dismissed, treated like they are uneducated on world issues and “don’t know what they’re talking about.” This play highlights important global issues through the experiences of young girls. It hits topics not always taught in our education system as well and typical issues girls have to deal with as they navigate puberty, hormones, and complicated relationships. The cast of actors are treated as storytellers and are inhabiting the world of these young soccer players. I urge you to open your minds and hearts to hear these stories and put yourselves into the shoes of these young minds.

CREATIVE TEAM
Candice Martinez-Clasby (Director) is an Associate Professor, heading up the Acting for Camera, Directing, and Musical Theatre programs here at Fullerton College. Past productions include Airline Highway, 13 Past Midnight, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and multiple new works showcases. Alex Guaydacan (Assistant Director) is in his third year at Fullerton College and is currently Co-President of the Theatre Arts Student Leadership team. He has been active in theatre for the last 16 years in performance, design, and direction. His most recent productions include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Clue: On Stage, Dorothy Meets Alice, Jack and the Beanstalk, and plenty more. He is thrilled to be behind the table again for this production and can’t wait to see it come to life!
Ayrika Johnson (she/her) graduated in June of 2022 with her M.F.A. in Costume Design from the University of California, Irvine, and is thrilled to find new projects and opportunities within assisting, designing, teaching, and supervising wardrobe for a burlesque Star Wars parody. While most often designing for theatre, Ayrika continues to stretch her creativity and finds joy in film and dance productions as well. When she's not designing, she can be found buried in a book to uncover eccentric fashion research, or in the kitchen trying to perfect a new bread recipe. Her passion for design lies in creating and joining projects that discuss the human condition and historically forgotten voices to inspire a new conversation. Ayrika finds inspiration in the history of performance to rally groups toward new ideas and perspectives. It is in this hope that she seeks to further break down traditional ideologies of society and allow curiosity and empathy to guide the audience towards new understandings. After all, clothing and adornment are tools for identifying oneself in the world. The opportunity to work on this show with the cast and crew alongside of her has been such a gift-- especially after the continual shake-ups with Covid-19. She hopes you enjoy the performance, and remain safe, healthy, and kind as the world continues to adjust to new normals. Thank you!
