Sound Technician Certificate

The Sound Technician Certificate is designed to provide the student with enhanced occupational competency as a general theatre technician specializing in Sound, for theatrical productions, corporate events, theme parks, television, and film studios. This advanced certificate requires completion of the Technical Theatre Certificate (17-24.5 units) plus additional advanced courses for a total of 33-48.5 units. At least one-half of the units toward the certificate must be completed at Fullerton College. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Student Learning Outcomes
Outcome 1: Demonstrate an understanding of basic technical theatre terminology as it relates to sound and audio.
Outcome 2: Identify and demonstrate the practical aspects of safe and effective use of tools and equipment associated with entertainment sound and audio.
Outcome 3: Identify and describe the various types of drawings and paperwork used for entertainment audio.
Outcome 4: Identify and explain collaboration and concept as it relates to the audio design process.
Outcome 5: Recognize and apply various methodologies to safely troubleshoot lighting, sound, rigging, scenic, and show control equipment.
