The events of William Shakespeare's Hamlet are treated in dark comedic fashion by Tom Stoppard as seen from the points of view of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Hamlet's friends at court who are being sent to their deaths by forces they are unable to comprehend.
A theatrical work of a highly emotional content, typically involving the representation of a situation wherein conflict exists and is resolved through the interaction of the characters. Put more simply, it refers to a group of actors playing out a situation of a serious rather than a comic or tragic nature.
Our contemporary series cover stories and settings that address modern issues such as open sexuality or events such as recent political conflicts. They may also feature different story structures or delivery formats from plays developed during or before the previous century. Experimental and innovative performances, as well as small character-driven stories and elaborate productions, are commonly produced.
The Bronwyn Dodson Theatre, a black box theatre, named after former student Bronwyn Dodson, can accommodate up to 150 audience members. A flexible seating systems allows for proscenium, thrust, semi-thrust, arena, and alley configurations to the theatre. One half of our season, the Playwrights Festival, Directors Festival, and class projects perform in the Bronwyn Dodson Theatre.
Our wheelchair accessibility section is located in the first row at ground level. Additionally, most seating requires the navigation of a few steps per aisle. Check in with the lobby staff upon arrival for assistance with either of these needs. When purchasing tickets please let our Box Office staff know of any accessibility needs.

This is an extensive project that will take several years to complete. We are moving in reverse chronological order, however, are happy to accommodate a particular production the community may be interested in viewing.
